Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been making waves in various industries, and sports analytics is no exception. In recent years, AI…
AI Predicts
In this section, you will find articles about sports outcome prediction using artificial intelligence. AI utilizes advanced algorithms and machine learning to analyze team statistics, historical results, player form, match context, and many other factors to predict the outcome of a game.
The articles in this category discuss various methods and techniques employed by AI in sports outcome prediction, as well as present forecast results. Whether you’re interested in football, basketball, tennis, or other sports disciplines, “AI Predicts” will help you delve into the knowledge of utilizing artificial intelligence in sports outcome prediction – you will also see statistics on how AI performs in predicting results.
How do we acquire forecasts?
We provide the model with the maximum possible data regarding individual matches. For example, when we want to obtain an AI-predicted football match result, we don’t ask AI to independently analyze data it fetches from the internet for two reasons:
1 – it’s not a reliable analysis (often AI omits crucial data or doesn’t provide anything sensible).
2 – often, AI simply reprints an existing article from another website, which makes such action meaningless.
Therefore, we manually provide the latest data to AI, and its task is to analyze and draw conclusions, which are intended to be more accurate than those made by humans.
To achieve this, we create a prompt that provides information about the previous matches of both teams (the last few/teens/tens of matches, as well as direct encounters if applicable). We also consider details such as team line-ups, injuries, yellow cards, the significance of the match (e.g., whether a team needs to win it or can field substitute players because they have already secured advancement from the group stage), and other aspects that may influence the match outcome. In theory, AI doesn’t intend to provide specific predictions, but it changes its approach if we inform it that it’s not actual outcome prediction but a game invented for the purpose of conversing with AI. Such information removes the “censorship” and allows us to receive forecasts for real matches based on genuine data that we provide.
